چکیده
Abstract This article presents the latest of a series research activities aimed to determine deviation originated when Prescale pressure measurement film is used measure size and shape wheel-rail contact area. Despite being an attractive solution due simplicity procedure, it well known that interaction altered by presence film. Consequently, characterizing filtering out systematic error fundamental requirement for accurate quantitative assessments. Nevertheless, complexity problem, which lacks analytical solution, hinders direct determination correction values. The approach presented here builds on corrections simpler Hertzian geometries calibrate model further use in scenario. results highlight marked dependency wheel rail roughness underline importance including into finite element models are validated comparison with experimental observations.

Preliminary results on multi-body dynamic simulation of a new test rig for wheel-rail contact
The ability to perform rolling contact fatigue (RCF) experiments in wheel–rail material is provided by a new small–scale test rig, manifesting the actual dynamic behaviour of the railway system. In this paper, a multi-body dynamics (MBD) model is proposed, simulating the vibration behaviour of the prescribed rig. The new testing facility is modelled using a three-dimensional model of the vehicl...

A new reduced–scale test rig is developed owing to significantly contribute to the applicability of the laboratory tests on rolling contact fatigue (RCF) in wheel-rail material. This paper introduces the dynamic analysis of the test rig, in order to assess the vibration behaviour of the system with respect to contact phenomenon. Finite element modelling (FEM) is used to simulate the mecha...
متن کاملAnalytical Approach to Vibration Analysis Of the Wheel-rail contact
Wheel/rail contact simulation is one of the most complicated problems in the modeling of railway vehicles. The wheel/rail interaction plays a unique role in rail vehicle dynamics. In this paper, the dynamic response of the wheel on irregular rail track is analyzed with analytical approach using the method of Multiple Scales (MMS). The Hertzian contact theory is used to obtain the relationshi...
متن کاملinvestigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
Fpga Implementation of Wheel-rail Contact Laws
This paper presents the development of an accelerator for the real-time simulation of wheelrail contact laws (Hertz and Fastsim), which would enable the use of hardware-in-the-loop for experimental studies of the latest active control technology for wheelset stabilization and steering. The complex wheel-rail contact laws are implemented using a single FPGA chip that outperforms modern general-p...
